This is a great kingdom, daughter of mine. It will give the biggest headaches, but it will also give you joy, if you can make it prosper and evolve. Keep the people happy. Those are your best supporters. Tolerate clergy and nobility, but don't give them too much attention. Their alcoves are a dan of treason, bickering and conspiracy. Choose to trust and be by your side the ones strong in character, not those who have titles in their names, or pockets filled with money earned in a doubtful way. Pay attention to the business man. They travel a lot and know so much more about what's going on beyond our bourders. Keep posted about their deals and support them every time they stand for the kingdom best interests. Our prosperity is mostly in their hands. Don't allow our people to starve. Keep them entertained and they will follow you.

I hope to see you married, before leave this life, but i feel weaker and you have been so resolute about this subject that i already given up. It became to my knowledge that some of our sycophant nobility started conspire against me, wishing my death, as i haven't passed my crown to you, leaving the run to kingdom's sovereign open. So, i decided that you will take my crown in a couple of weeks, in the next full moon.

Soon you will be the queen of this kingdom, and the best queen it ever had.

Making of #4

20180318_172515

 20180318_172603

Assim, rendi-me às evidências e lá me dediquei a fazer umas histórias com ele.

This plane's history is told herehere and here. This type of set never cought my interest really. But it was a challenge to recover it and i enjoyed it a lot. Thus, my daugther plays with it noe and then, and somehow i began to look at it as it got some potential.

Therefore, i started to take a couple of pictures and done two storys: in this one, the set wasn't complete yet, and in this one, i was skeptic about the final result.

My last work with this set is in this post.

Caixa azul #2: 5389 Guerreiro egípcio | Blue box #2: Egyptian warrior

20180304_120412

Aqui fica a minha avaliação:

Originalidade

Gostei sobretudo dos acessórios do camelo e dos ornamentos dos pulsos do guerreiro.

Adequação do conteúdo

Expectativa/Realidade

O conteúdo satisfez a minha expectativa.

In my house, nativity set is a playmobil one. It changes every sunday since the beginning of December and i have this habit of adding some new details every year.

This egyptian warrior will take part in every day life scenes (usually the first two sundays) and the camel also will became one of the animals of the Three Wise Kings, since i have only have two animals for three wise man.

Here is my evaluation:

Price/Content

The price (12,99) seemed right, considering the accesories and that there was an extra bow.

Novelty

I found camel's accessories very interesting spikes and think that the warrior's wrist ornaments such a cute detail

Content adequacy

Nothing to point out, except the arrows. Like them separated, not conjoined. In another hand, this way they'll be more difficult to loose.

Component quality

The spikes worn by camels don't feet right. They're a little bit loose, so it's very easy to detached from the camel.

Expectation/Reality

I was pleased wih this set.

Azar ou sorte? | Bad luck or good luck?

IMG_5505

Deixa-me oferecer-te esse candeeiro.

It is told that the one who breakes a mirror will have seven years of bad luck. Well, in Clara's village, there is a belief that someone who breaks a candlestick, will not be happy, unless he or she gets another one as a gift.

Clara has many doubts about this belief, but after seeing her mother crying around the house for a couple of days, when she broke a candlestick, decided to went to the market and buy another one and somehow try to repair the situation.

She arrived early at the market, and distracted in finding someone selling candlesticks, didn't noticed in a small donkey loaded with firewood, and she chashed against it. The poor animal shook it's head frightened, and Clara took a carrot from her morning snack and gave it to the animal.

She resumed her path wasting no time and finally found Mustafa's tent. There she found all sort of lamps, lucernas and candlesticks and no ideia what to choose. She asked Mustafa's help, explaining that she wanted something robust, not easily breakable. She didn't wanted her mother crying again anytime soon.

Mustafa smiled and helped her to choose a good candlestick feated to her intentions. They argued about the price, as usual, and while Clara grabbed in her purse the money agreed, a rough hand gave Mustafa the money. On turning back Clara saw a strong tall young man, with a dark full beard, and with the most beautiful smile in the world.Said he:

- You gave me luck sweet girl. Right after i found you feedind my donkey with a carrot, sold all the firewood for a much higher price than expected. Let me offer you that candlestick. And smile once again.

Clara put her head down acepting the offer, unable to look in to those deep eyes, black as the night, without delight. The boy payed of and insisted in escort her to the city exits. Before they leave, gave hands and after a deep look in each other eyes, promesing that they would meet again.

So, there's no need to mother keep whining. Clara was now certain that she was going to be happy no mather what.

Matias, o boneco de neve | Matias, the snowman

IMG_6179

Boa sorte meninos!

To everyone's joy, snow announced easter break. When the children left school in the last day before break, snow was all around. It was complete hapiness for the kids.

Next day in the morning, as waking up early it's only difficult in school days, Alexandre and Sara put hands together for their project: build a snowman.

Occasionally it snows in the city, but it's usually just a few snowflakes, witch melt in no time, leaving everything covered up with a dirty mud, unsuited for playing. But this year snow came heavily and it's expected to snow even more in the next few days.

The children from the street came together and started a contest on the best snowman, so the street is full of committed kids that are trying to build the best snowman ever. Kids keep coming and going, picking up tools (shovels, buckets, rakes,...) and the most unique accessories they can find.

Alexandre and Sara's work is well underway and they hope that their effort will be rewarded.

Goog luck kids!

Limpezas de Primavera | Spring clean

IMG_5827

Now that Spring is finally here, it's time for some deep cleaning in the horse center. The horses are not very fond of all the movement around them, so, now that the days are longer and warmer, they will spend the most of the day in the big meadow, while cleaning tasks are taking place. Spend the day in the big meadow is something that they really love.

The stables need to be cleaned, painted and there are a lot of other small repairs to do: hinges that creaks, warped doors, fallen racks that needs to be put in place again.

All horses gear must be washed: blankets, saddle pads, wraps and boots, you name it. All the leather gear must be greased, so they last longer. And all gear and acessories must me checked so it can be replaced if needed.

This year, the horse center  was chosen to host one of the national jumping contest stage's, wherefore its' with bigger enthusiasm that everyone embraces these spring clean.
