Embarcação nova | New ship

20180606_175806

Tudo pronto. Rumo aos Olímpicos então!

After the success that the brothers achieved at their last race, the family got together, and will a little bit of effort they manage to give the kids one fantastic Christmas gift: a brand new ship!

The kids were so so happy, that promissed right there to commit even harder to get to the Olympics. Trought their mothers face rolled down a few happy tears, when Pedro, their coach agreed to helped them to achieve that goal. He knows how much effort does it take to get there, but the firm look of the kids, the mother's happiness and family support, he believes that they could get there.

For now, it's time to put Albatross in the water, and work, work, and work even harder. But most of all, the kids must have fun, to keep their motivation in high spirit.

All set! Heading to the Olympics then!

Jorge get the scare of his life today. Driving home after a exausting day, Jorge watched the kids playing in the streets with a smile. These first long days of summer are great to children, but for those who are still working, more hours of sun often means more hours of work. Never the less Jorge smiled and was happy becouse at least someone was enjoying the magnificent day.

All of a sudden, a ball jumps at the street, and right after a boy in a bike. He couldn't avoyed hiting the child. It was not a strong hit, but the kid fell from the bike. However he got up immediatly and picked up the ball, but when he realized it was hurting, he sat down on the floor and starter sniveling.

Problably it's nothing, cause kids are strong but the boy is gooing to the hospital. Jorge is taking statement about the incidence. The day witch was already a long one has become an even longer one. Vacations are taking too long!

Capitão | Captain

20180606_174614

Triunfarei!

I've been at sea, since i was 10 years old. Peeled thousands of potatoes, before i had the right to go up on deck to rubb it from tip to toe, just to start over as soon i finished it. Before i could get my hands on the helm, sewed many sails, and repaired a lot of masts and assembled quilometers of rigging.

Do not know any other kind of life, unless sea life. I knowm when the storm is to come and i can smel mutiny as soon as the ideia is starting to take shape.

Mr. Rochester gave me today the command of his biggest ship. Compass is a schooner of 2 masts and 6 cannons maneuvered by about fifty man. It's my biggest challenge till today!

My mission is to intercept any ship that is crossing the Atlantic heading home with it's holds loaded. Mr. Rochester will be happy with coffee, chocolate, gold, fabrics or pretty girls. Anything will do basically. However, he doesn't take a defeat and it's unthinkable to loose one of his ships. Death waits the captain that let one of his ships shink.

I know the Atlantic too well.I trust my good star that made me survive so many adventures. I will return home, with Compass holds loaded. I will triumph!

A fotografia | Old photo

20180606_180052

O meu pai cheirava a mar.

Menos as mãos.

It's my father in this photograph.

See, right there the lighthouse? It was his paisson. Whenever he talked about it, his eyes sparkled and a huge smile shined trough that full beard witch stinged when he kissed me.

My father smelled like the sea. He use to carry that smell wherever he went. He got it from the many hours he spent watching, and guardin and admiring it from the lighthuse. Not only once i ran my fingers trough his hair and find it soft and smooth. His hair was always curly and tangled.

His skin was wrinkled as a piece of paper one thousand times smashed and unsmashed. But not his hands. People told me that he started to take care of his hands right after he picked me up for the first time. My mother died at labour, so my father took care of me, with soft hands.

I know the sea. I know it's mood: when it changes colour and when it gets rough right before the storm. I grew up rocked by the sound of the waves, some times sotf, some times raging.

Today i lost my father, but i know i'll find him by his sea and his lighthouse.

This time the same cenary supported several stories: thisthis and this one.

I prefer to take photos from different scenes, but when i immagine a more complex scenary, i don't like to carry lots ands lots of parts with me to the street. So, in these cases, i construct the scenary and try to vary the figures used. Hopefully i will manage to put up some good stories.

Treino de bombeiro | Firefighter training

IMG_6253

Team Flame is one of the best succeeded in the firefighter course. The guys are commited in achieving a good result and they have been putting all their efforts in it.

Course instructor acknowlodge their capacities and demands no less than theirs full effort in each exercise. Everybody knows his yelling trought the megaphone. The guys already know that when he picks up the megaphone, it's gonna be a difficult exercise that will need their best.

The team started the course in the bottom of the table rank, behind the other teams: team Spark, team Ember and team Flash, but their motivation and strong effort made them climb up, all the way to the top.

Marco wants to be a fireman, so he can defend up his land from fire that strikes his village every summer. Jacinto wants to be first-aider on an ambulance and Mané dreams about working with the vehicles of extrication. The course is almost finished, so it only takes a few more effort to complete it in the top rank. If so, they will be able to choose their job placement.

Curiosos | Curious people

IMG_6248

Whenever there's an accidente, there always be some curious folks that pop out of nowhere. Even if there's no one in the area, when the accidente took place, these folks immediately pop out, giving their opinion, discussing among themselves, and querreling the whole time.

Instead of helping, these guys only make harder the job of those who are trying to solve things: they confuse the ones that are taking statements and make difficult to authorities to move around tne scene, as they always want to come a little bit closer to take a better look.

Agent Carrot knows this kind of people too well, and when he arrives at the scene, he starts immediately to establishing a securety perimeter. With endless patience, but with firm voice and gestures, that admitt no kind of argument, he explains why that they can't and shouldn't be that close from the scenario, and by doing that he takes space, forcing them to step back.

Fireman Tomás is standing by, and quickly put in place some signalling, stablishing a securety perimeter. Agent Carrot steps in again, saying out loud that everyone that trespasses the signs, will be taken to headquarters, and filled with a penalty for obstruction to justice.
