Castelos na areia | Sand castles

IMG_6583

A Maria e o Manel ficaram amigos logo no primeiro dia.

Maria and Manel became friends right at the first day they knew each other on the beach. They found out very quickly that two buckets is best than a single one, and that a shovel and a rake working together can make better and larger sand constructions.

In these days, they can't live without each other, and every day they choose a new construction to build. Usually the project changes along the way, and the final result is often quite different from the original, but somehow the kids manage to have fun destroying and building it up again. They spend hours playing and eveyone around them can't help but smile at their laughter.

However, it's not always that peacefull. Friendship is questioned several times a day by child disagremments: because it was Maria's time to pick up water, or because Manel built a tower in the wrong place. But they quickly find out that bathing alone is not that fun and that the sand construction isn't that good when you don't have a partner to share tasks, they pu their issues aside and manage to became friends again to work and play together once more. vacaccions are the best of times!

A urticária do Comandante | Commander's hives

IMG_6536

Igor is a little recidivist thief, who once in a while is arrested to be loose short after. He's been a pickpocket for many years ank knows to well the officers that patrol the streets. It's har to get him in action, so mostly he gets away with it.

However, today his luck abondoned him. He was caught robbering a tourist by the river side, and when he was escaping, he threw his backpack into to the water. In the end, he was caught, and now it's necessary to recover the bag, as it contains evidence needed to put him behind bars for several months.

Headquarter's commander came in person accompany the recovery, and it was him that explained to Martim, the diver, the importance of that backpack. Commander has severe hives as soon as he ears Igor's name pronouced in the police station, to the point that he have to take some pills to calm down.

While Martim prepared the dive, the commander kept gesticulating, yelling and going forward and backwards, one moment entusiastic another moment thoughtfull.

The water is dark and the tide isn't helping Martim's task. As time goes by, commander starts to show some signs of hives. At last, Martim comes out with a red backpack in his hands. The commander jumped in the water to hug the diver, and delivered the bag to the technicians who had the task of recovering it's content.

Looks like finally the commander is free from the hives!

Caixa azul #3: 6673 Piscina | Blue box #3: 6673 Pool

20180721_095708

E agora a nossa avaliação.

Preço/Conteúdo

A caixa custou 17,99€, o que me pareceu adequado.

Originalidade

Adequação do conteúdo

Nada a apontar.

Expectativa/Realidade

After a few hours shopping, my daughter asked to go to the playmobil store. I was hard to make her leave without a set, but that day i didn´t want to spend any more money. This set caught her eyes, and she talked about it for days. She got it a few days latter, by Children Day, and her smile was delightful.

And now our evaluation:

Price/Content

The price (17,99) seemed right.

Novelty

I was very fond of the squirting octopus and the elegant shape of the pool.

Content adequacy

The toys are so cute, but very tiny and easy to loose. My daughter loved the fish and the boat witch are often taken with her to bath.

Component quality

Nothing to point out.

Expectation/Reality

My daughter was very pleased wih this set, although it would be a blast if  the pool floated, so she can play with it in the bath as well.

Mau tempo | Storm

20180606_174409

The sky is getting cloudier and darker. It's no longer possible to see the sun. Seagulls squeak frenetically and man cover their bodys with coats, forecasting bad weather. There's no point in leaving now. The ship would suffered a heavy storm nearly without leaving the pier. Tripulation hummor would be challenged too soon, without need.

They will stay a few more hours. Man will have one more night of fresh beer and tomorrow, despite the drunkness it will be easier to put up anchor and sail. The captain determined that all man should be on board at the first ray of light, however some of them will leave the tavern straightly to the deck. Soon as the captain finish his orders, everyone leave ship, like mice when a ship sinks.

The captain will be all alone in is quarters smoking pipe after pipe, earing the storm. They will be only one. He and his ship.

Marinheiro novato | Rookie sailor

20180606_174929

Ends today Carlos first week in the sea. Already loss 5 quilos. He is always sea sick, barely can eat an oat cookie and sleeps almost nothing as he can't get use to the balance of the damned ship. They say the first week is the worst and that the ones who survive it, have the sea in the blood.

Carlos in no longer counting the days. He just fulfil his tasks, always nauseated, thanking every time time someone tells him to go up and check the sails. He doesn't stand the smell of ship's wood and rigging. At least up there his nose is safe from it.

This will be his life from now on. One day, his dad, tired of seeing him waste his days skeepping school and wandering the streets with a cigar on his mouth, slap him, and drag him to the docks. A friend of a friend manage to get Carlos accepted in a merchant ship as a rookie sailor. His first trip should last three mouths. The first mouth he will not get paid. Only in the second mouth he's gonna get his first salary.

Carlos should get some sense in the head, as he is far from home, without money and with the rest of the crew demanding to fulfil his tasks. His dad hope that so.

O roubo | The robbery

 IMG_6258

- exclamou o pai.

Rebelo family were on the way to the vacations, when stopped by a police operation. Looks like a dangerous gang of criminals is on the loose and the officers have orders to carefully search all the vehicles. The gang have in their possession thousands of euros and several pieces of religious art wich have been stolen from many little villages. Police suspects that the gang is getting rid of the objects, now that they know that they are beeing persued.

The family went out of the vehicle, and watched the officiers taking all the luggage that was carefully packed, out of the car, and examine it with lots of attention. Only Manel's bag of toys escaped the search.

After finishing, the officiers thanked for the family patience, and wished them happy vacations and a safe drive.

As hitting the road, Manel opens the bag of toys, and takes a small statue from a man carrying a children in the shoulders.

- Dad, who is this saint anyway?  - asked Manel.

- Saint Christopher my son. Protector of the travellers. I told you that we should bring this one. It's gone make us a lot of money! - said dad with an evil smile.

Sometimes i have company in my shoots. Not always a great help, cause she wants to play with the cliks, or just want me to play with her in something else. Taking just a few pictures takes triple of time, but it's very funny watch her making questions about what i am doing.

This shoot result? An accident (here and here), a courage story and a story of a sweet granny.

Cacilheiro

20180606_183459

The river lays calm and submiss at the city's feet. Uncle Joaquim knows it very well. He started to fish here with his gradfather, paying attention to the movemmnet of the small boats in a continuous come and go. He grew up along the small piers and small beaches here is grandfather used to fish, always with wet feet. School told him nothing and he felt sick while away from the river.

As he, so the city grew, and the need to carry more and more people grew also. They build some ships - the Cacilheiros, and neeeded some men to maneuver them. As so, uncle Joaquim left school, without completing any schoolar degree and started do dock cacilheiros in a never ending pendulum journey. Routine didn't break his spirit and a few years after dropping school, he returned, so he could be Mestre, and take cacilheiro's wheel.

His head hurt whenever he grabbed a book to study. Letters made him sunk in a deep sleep, and numbers made his tummy hurt from trying to understand them. It was a hard battle, but he won it. He completed school years needed to became Mestre, where he is truly happy.

No oásis | At the oasis

IMG_6498

It's festivity day in the oasis: everyone is celebrating Bastet, protective godess of the home.

Today, since run rise until the sun down, all the houses have it´s doors and windows wide open, so the godess power can flood and purify them. In the backyards and at the doorways, there are snacks to share with all the neighbours. Everyone presents their best recipes and make available the most tasteful drinks, hoping for the godess blessings in the next year.

Throughout the day, there's a continuous come and go as eveybody spends all day out, wandering from house to house, ending this way several days devoted to their own homes, cleaning and tidying them up in preparation of the godess day.

By the sun down, everyone gathers and make a huge fire, where each family sacrifices one object from their home, burning it as an offer to the godess and representing their will to always take care of home.
