As renas do avô | Grandpa's reindeer
O avô cria renas desde sempre. O seu pai já as criava, e antes dele, o seu avô. O avô costuma dizer que as renas dele são especiais. E hoje, a alguns dias do Natal, eu descobri porquê!
O avô está a ficar velhote e a força nas pernas está a faltar-lhe. Em breve já não será capaz de cuidar das suas adoradas renas e por isso hoje ele chamou-me ao estábulo e depois de me falar sobre cada uma delas, com uma lágrima ao canto do olho, disse-me:
- Rita, minha neta, bem sabes que as forças me estão a começar a faltar, por isso está na altura de te revelar um segredo!
- Que segredo, avô? – inquiri, a pensar que ele me ia dizer o que tinha para oferecer à avó no Natal.
- Rita, toma atenção, por favor. Agora que me começam a faltam as forças, o futuro das renas do Pai Natal está nas tuas mãos.
- Como assim, avô? - perguntei eu, sem perceber nada!
- As nossas adoradas renas, na verdade, não são nossas. São do Pai Natal. São as nossas renas que puxam o trenó do Pai Natal, na Noite de Natal – disse ele.
- Isso é verdade, avô? - duvidei eu.
- Sim, minha querida neta. É a mais pura das verdades. Nós cuidamos delas o ano inteiro: escolhemos as melhores e tratamos delas o melhor que sabemos. Depois, alguns dias antes do Natal, os elfos do Pai Natal levam-nas para elas se prepararem para a Grande Noite e no dia seguinte, no Dia de Natal, devolvem-nas para que continuemos a cuidar delas durante o resto do ano.
- Não é possível, avô! - dizia eu incrédula.
O avô riu-se do meu espanto, agarrou-me na mão e levou-me para o pé de uma das renas. Falou-lhe ao ouvido de mansinho e para meu espanto, logo o seu nariz que se iluminou de encarnado! Eu tinha a rena Rodolfo no meu estábulo e mal podia acreditar!
E o avô disse-me ainda:
- Rita, de agora em diante, a tua missão é tratares das renas do Pai Natal, junto com o teu pai, que te vai ensinar tudo o que precisas de saber. E daqui a muitos anos, serás tu a passar esse testemunho aos teus filhos. Tudo para que mantenhamos viva a magia do Natal! Posso contar contigo?
- Claro que sim, avô! - foi tudo o que consegui dizer!

Grandpa raises reindeer since ever. His father raise them too and before him his grandfather too. Granpa always says his reindeer are special. And today, a few days for Christmas, i found out why!
Grandpa i getting old and he’s lacking strength to care for the animals. Soon he will not be able to do that, só today, he call me to the stable and after telling me something about each one of the animals, he told me:
- Rita, my sweet child, you know i’m not feeling good lately, só it’s time to tell you a secret!
- What secret grandpa?- i asked, thinking he was going to tell me the gift he bought to grandma.
- Pay attention, please. Now that i’m having trouble doing my job, the future of Santa Claus’s reindeer is in your hands.
- How is that so? - i asked not understandin a bit he was saying.
- Our belove reindeer, aren’t ours. They’re Santa Claus’s reindeer. This are the one’s who pull Santa sleight on the Christmas night – he said.
- That is really true? - i doubted.
- Yes, my grandchild. It’s true indeed. We take care of them all year around: we choose the best and take care of them the best we can. A few days before Christmas, Santa’s elves take them and prepare them for the big night. In the Christmas Day, they are returned, to be with us the rest of the year.
- That is not possible, grandpa! - said i in disbelieve.
Grandpa laught at my astonishment, grabbeb my hand and took me to the stable, near one of the reindeer. He whispered something to the animal and in an instant, the reindeer nose lighted up in red. I had Rudolph the reindeer in front of me and couln’d believe it!
And grandpa said:
- Rita, from now on, your mission is to take care of the reindeer with your father. He will teach you everything you will need to know. In many years, it will be you that will pass this testimony to your sons our grandsons. Everything to make Christmas magic alive! Can i count on you?
- Of course you can, grandpa! - was all i could say!

Playmobook II
Lembram-se do Playmobook? Apresento agora o Playmobook - Volume II. Finalmente!
A verdade é que já há muito tempo havia histórias suficientes para fazer o segundo volume, mas a compilação das histórias era uma coisa que ficava sempre para segundo plano, no meio de outras tantas tarefas mais prioritárias. Até que impús a mim mesma, que seria uma espécie de presente de aniversário. E ei-lo!
Esperemos que o terceiro volume, que já vai bem adiantado, não demore tanto tempo a ver a luz do dia!
Do you remember Playmobook? Well, i now present you Playmobook - Volume II. At last!
The truth is that for a long time there were already enough stories to make a second volume, but the compilation of the stories was a task ever delayed in the middle of all other tasks more urgent. Until i decided to have it as a kind of birthday present. And here it is!
Let's hope that the third volume, that as a lot of stories already, doesn't take that long to see the daylight!

O recenseamento é a segunda cena do nosso presépio. Todos vão a caminho de Belém, incluindo Maria e José! A herdeira ajuda a montar os cenários e depois, enquanto ela lê o guião, a mãe filma o resultado :)
Em 2020, foi assim.
The census is the second scene of our notivity. Everybody in on their way to Bethlehem, including Mary and Joseph. Heiress helps doing the diorama, and then while she reads the script, mother films the result! :)

Mais um presépio, mas desta vez com algumas novidades: a tecelã, umas muralhas janotas para o Pilatos, o ferreiro, e o oleiro. Com estas novas personagens, conseguimos fazer este primeiro cenário um bocadinho diferente do que é costume.
Em 2022, esta cena foi assim.
One more nativity scene, this time with some new figures: the weaver, the forger, the potter and some new walls for Pilates. With these new characters we manage to do this first scene a bit different from the usual.
In 2022 this scene was like this.
A matriarca | The matriarch
Esta é a última fotografia que temos da avó. A avó foi um mulherão, sem nunca perder a delicadeza tão característica que possuía. Quem não a conhecesse, diria que ela seria provavelmente uma velhinha frágil, de quem seria necessário cuidar, como se fosse de cristal. Mas não podiam estar mais enganados. A avó era dona de uma vontade indómita que lhe estava entranhada nos ossos e a fortalecia de dentro para fora.
Tão depressa a avó acorria a fazer um parto difícil de uma das vacas da quinta, como salvava um ouriço com poucos dias de vida, das dentuças do Lord, o cão de guarda da quinta. Era a avó que exigia a presença de todos, na grande casa da quinta no Natal, e da cozinha, qual general, coordenava os trabalhos de confecção de toda a espécie de iguarias e era ela que não dispensava a presença de todos os netos em sua casa, uns dias no Verão.
A avó será insubstituível, mas deixou os seus genes bem marcados na Camila, que herdou o seu espírito peculiar e de todos os netos, aquela que será provavelmente a próxima grande matriarca da família.
This is the last picture that we have from grandma. She was a hell of a woman, without ever losing a delicacy that was so characteristic of her. Those who not knew her might say that she was a fragile, and must be taken care of. But they could not be more wrong. Grandma was the owner of a indomit will and spirit, that was ingrained in her bones and and that make her strong from inside out.
In a minute grandma could be helping one of the cows of the farm in a difficult labor, and in the next, she might be saving a newborn hedgehog from Lord's mouth, the dog guard of the farm. It was grandma that demanded the presence of the all family for Christmas in the farm's big house, and from the kitchen, like a general, she coordinated the making of all sorts of delicacies. And it was her that recquired a few days with all of her grandchildren in the farm, every Summer.
Grandma will be irreplaceable, but she left her genes in Camila, that inherited her peculiar spirit, and from all of the grandchildren, the one that most likely will be the next matriarch of the family.
Mais uma viagem | One more trip
Depois de verificado cada cabo, inspecionado o casco à procura de infiltrações e cosidos todos os pontos frágeis das velas, é agora hora de abastecer o porão. Água doce, carne fumada, biscoitos sem fim, e claro, rum!
A missão desta vez é curta e muito objectiva. Raptar a menina Constança, que se encontra a caminho do Brasil, a mando do seu pai, que não a quer casada com o seu melhor amigo. O pai quer que ela se case com um fazendeiro barrigudo, com uma fortuna do tamanho da bariga, de modo a ampliar os negócios da família.
Mas o melhor amigo não está pelos ajustes e contratou os serviços desta maravilha equipa que tripula esta fantástica embarcação, para reaver a sua amada, que na sua opinião lhe está a ser roubada. Ora roubar o que já foi roubado é uma das grande competências dos piratas, verdade?
Every cable is checked. The hull was supervisied lookinf for some leakings. The sails were sewed in every weak point. Now it's time to supply the cargo hold. Fresh water, smoked meat, endless crackers and rum, of course!
This time the mission is short and very objective: to kidnap miss Constance, that is now sailing to Brasil, sent by her father that do not want her married with her best friend. The man wants her daughter married with a fat farmer with a fortune big as his belly, to enhance the family businesses.
But the best friend not settled with this decisions and hired the services of this wonderfull crew taht sails this amazing ship, to take back his beloved, that he says is being stollen from him. Well steeling what as already been stolen is a great skill of any pirate, right?
