O tio Leopoldo foi hoje condecorado pelo rei e escolheu-me para o acompanhar. Disse ele que podia ser que arranjasse um príncipe só para mim! É um divertido o tio! Fomos recebidos no salão nobre do palácio com um pequeno beberete, onde um músico tocava piano, enquanto aguardávamos que a cerimónia iniciasse. O tio queria que eu arranjasse um príncipe, mas olhem que o músico é que me encheu as medidas! Fez-se silêncio no salão quando o rei entrou, e ele fez questão de cumprimentar todos os que iriam ser distinguidos neste dia. Achei de um bom gosto extraordinário. E também achei que o rei apertou a mão do tio Leopoldo um pouco mais tempo do que aos restantes e que o olhou profundamente nos olhos, como se estivesse a confirmar alguma coisa. Penso que o rei talvez tenha planos mais ambiciosos para o tio. Veremos.
Depois da cerimónia, tomámos um pequeno lanche nos jardins do palácio. E que maravilha de jardins, estes! O tio Leopoldo foi entretanto chamado para uma qualquer conversa importante e confidencial e o músico que tinha tocado piano antes da cerimónia, materializou-se de imediato junto a mim, e perguntou se me poderia fazer companhia até ao regresso do tio.

We were welcomed in the palace's main hall with a small drink, where a musician played the piano, while we waited for the ceremony to begin. My uncle wanted me to have a prince, but the musician was the one who made me blush! There was silence in the hall when the king entered, and he made a point of greeting everyone who would be distinguished on this day. I thought it was from a extraordinary good taste. And I also thought that the king shook Uncle Leopold's hand a little longer than the others and that he looked him deeply in the eyes, as if he was confirming something. I think the king may have more ambitious plans for uncle. We'll see.
After the ceremony, we had a small snack in the palace gardens. And what wonderful gardens these are! Uncle Leopold was called in the meantime for some important and confidential conversation and the musician who had played the piano before at the ceremony immediately materialized next to me and asked if he could keep me company until uncle returned.

Os miúdos não podiam estar mais satisfeitos e executaram todas as tarefas que lhes foram pedidas sem reclamar, o que é extraordinário. Levantaram-se cedo e foram pescar peixe fresco para o almoço e apanhar frutos silvestres para a sobremesa. Temos a tenda arrumada, as ferramentas afiadas, e o acampamento organizado, o que é raro.
Depois de ter tudo orientado e preparado, a minha esposa, Corça-Agitada, desapareceu na tenda e nunca mais apareceu, calculo eu, que esteja a pôr-se ainda mais bonita para este momento.
Desconfio que vou sugerir ao chefe que por cá apareça mais vezes!

Tal como combinado, foi a herdeira que escolheu o tema de Fevereiro para o diorama mensal. E ela, que anda numa de cavalos, quis fazer um centro hípico. Os estábulos foi ela que criou, montou e organizou, assim como a zona de preparação dos cavalos. O resto aconteceu com a ajuda da mãe, pois ainda lhe falta experiência para conseguir concretizar as ideias.

Estou triste porque em breve perderei o meu pai, mas tranquilo porque ganharei mais um Deus que orientará a minha vida. E quem sabe, se chegar a minha vez de reinar, também eu possa um dia ficar junto deles na eternidade, viajando pelo céu, com Rá, o Deus Sol.

Nem eu acreditei naquela ideia dele, de haver uma pirâmide mesmo junto ao rio. E não é que o homem tinha razão? Fiz questão de lhe dar um aperto de mão e de o felicitar por aquela magnífica descoberta!

- Calha-nos com cada uma! Esta donzela que aí vem na diligência até é bonita, mas tem um ar de enjoada, que dá dó! Só ela, trouxe mais bagagem que as últimas três viagens que fizemos juntas. Foi uma maçada para conseguirmos acomodar tudo. Ali vai ela, ali dentro, sempre de lenço perfumado no nariz. Até parece que cheiramos mal ou qualquer coisa parecida. E a roupa dela? Aquele vestido de cauda gigante e aqueles botins vão ficar cobertos de pó e lama assim que ela der 3 passos lá na vila. Será que ela não sabe para onde vai? O Rogério foi ali dar uma guloseima aos cavalos para ver se passamos este desfiladeiro sem contratempos e a donzela está com um ar de enfadada que põe qualquer um azedo. Enfim, não vejo a hora de entregarmos esta bela encomenda e ir beber uma cerveja ao saloon!
