Arqueiro ambicioso | Ambicious archer

Os dias de festa no castelo são duros para os que têm que preparar todos os detalhes. Para nós, os treinos intensificam-se. Ninguém quer falhar perante o Senhor. E quando há donzelas presentes então, todos querem ganhar.

Desta vez não procuro agradar a nenhuma donzela, mas sim a Sir Arthur. Ele é o chefe de um dos batalhões de arqueiros do rei e de vez em quando procura novos homens. É a ele que quero impressionar. Estou farto desta vida de corte da província, das suas intrigas permanentes e sempre iguais. Quero conhecer um pouco mais do nosso reino e só saindo daqui o consigo alcançar.

Quero pertencer à guarda do rei e isso só vai acontecer se conseguir impressionar Sir Arthur. Não tenho falsas modéstias, sei que sou um bom arqueiro e por isso o meu Senhor sempre me manteve ao seu serviço. Mas também sei que existem mais bons arqueiros, por isso treino uma e outra vez.

Amanhã terei a minha oportunidade. Hoje terei que evitar a festa e a bebida e dormir cedo. Amanhã quero acordar descansado, com a minha visão apurada. Acho até que tomarei banho, já que vou vestir o meu traje mais recente. Veremos se a sorte me acompanha.

Festivity days are hard for those who have to prepare every detail. To us, the training increase. No one wants to fail in front of the Lord. And if there are maidens assisting, everybody wants to win, of course.

This time i don't want to impress any maid, but Sir Arthur. He is the chief of one of the king´s archer battallion, and he is in search of some new man to join him. That's the one i want and must impress. I'm tired of this rural life, of it's permanent schemes. I want to see more of our kingdom, and i only can do that if i leave.

I want to be in the king's guard, and that only will happen if i can catch Sir Arthur attention. I am a good archer, i know. My Lord always kept me at he's service for that. I also know that there are more good archers, so i'm training harder and harder.

Tomorrow i will have my shot. I will avoid the party and the drinking tonight, and sleep early. Tomorrow i want to wake up in good condition and with my sight sharp. Maybe i even take a bath, as i will dress my newest garment. We'll see if luck stays by my side.
