Como é habitual, os condes Saavedra foram os últimos a chegar ao baile.

Comenta-se nos corredores do palácio que o conde raramente janta em casa, regressando apenas à noite. E que durante o dia, a condessa se refugia nos seus inúmeros compromissos e eventos de beneficiência, de modo que raramente se encontram. São inúmeros os boatos que correm sobre a insustentabilidade da sua relação, a sua iminente ruptura, e são mais que muitas as infedilidades atribuídas tanto a um como a outro.

Os condes Saavedra foram os últimos a chegar, mas traziam o melhor guarda-roupa e o mais radiante dos sorrisos. Dançaram a noite toda, interrompendo apenas essa exclusividade de casal, para assegurar alguma etiqueta social: a condessa dançou uma vez com o dono da casa e o conde com a filha do anfitrião. Não perderam um só instante uma cumplicidade invejável, quer na troca de olhares, no humor, ou nas conversas de circusntância a que eram obrigados a participar.

Excêntricos dizem uns. Apaixonados dizem outros. 

As usual Stone Counts were the last to arrive to the ball. 

Gossip from the palace corridors assure that the count rarely dine at home, returning home late in the evening. They say that the countess hides away in her numerous commitments and events, and that they alomost don't see each other. There are inumerous rumours about the non-sustainability of the relationship and it's eminent rupture and there are so many infidelity attributed to both.

Stone Counts were the last to arrive, but they had the best outfits and the most radiant smiles. They danced all night, only interruption that couple exclusivity to fullfil some social etiquette: the countess danced with the owner of the house and the count with his daughter. They did not lost one single moment the an enviable cumplicity between them: in the glances, in the humour or in the conversations that they participated on.
