Um baile memorável | A memorable ball
Terá lugar hoje o baile mais memorável dos últimos tempos. Os novos inquilinos do paço ducal, amigos intímos do próprio rei, darão hoje uma festa para assinalar a sua chegada.
Na verdade, os duques já estão aqui a viver há várias semanas, período em que estiveram a conhecer o pessoal, e a inteirar-se dos assuntos mais urgentes da propriedade. Agora que finalmente tomaram as rédeas da situação, estão prontos para se apresentarem à sociedade local, e a tomar parte da vida social da cidade. Convidaram todos aqueles que lhes pareceram minimamente importantes e não apenas os nobres e os negociantes com os quais lidarão mais amiúde. Não quiseram deixar ninguém de fora, evitando quezílias futuras, por isso convidaram os mais significativos homens de negócios, mas também artistas (músicos, pintores, escritores...), artesãos e até agricultores.
Muitos estão a perguntar-se como será possível reunir no mesmo salão gente tão diferente e se a noite não irá ser um fiasco. Pelo contrário, os novos duques estão certos de que será um serão memorável, e que os benefícios que daí retirarão serão incomensuravelmente maiores, do que os mexericos que daí resultarem. The dukes already live here sine a few weeks ago, time that they used to know the property, the staff and all the most urgent matters to attend.Now that they finally took in their hands the manegment of the property, they are ready to present them selves to the local society, and to know it, and take part on the social life of the town. They invited anyone who seemed a little bit relevant an not only the nobles or the business man. They didin't wanted to leave anyone out, so that in the future they can benefict with that. So, besides the nobles and the business man, they invited artists (musicians, paintors, writers,...) and also the farmers and craftsman.
Many are asking how it will be possible to join in the same room so many different people and pedicting that the night will be doomed. On the contrary, the dukes are very certain that this will be a memorable night and that the beneficts they will gain on a long term, will overcame tremendously the gossiping in the short time.
