Uma carta importante | An important letter
Minha adorada Lila:
O dia finda. A lua já se vê no horizonte e amanhã a comitiva estará de partida para mais uma batalha. Esta será a terceira campanha em que participo e receio muito que a sorte que me tem acompanhado se tenha esgotado e que por isso não regresse a esta casa. Quero por isso que saibas o quanto te amo e também quais são as minhas últimas vontades. Confio em ti para as concretizares, caso eu falhe o meu regresso:
- O meu cavalo deverá ser entregue aquele moço que dormiu com ele, sempre que o animal esteve doente. Não me recordo do nome dele, mas de certeza o tratará com o maior respeito e cuidado;
- As minhas armas, armaduras e cotas de malha ficarão nas mãos do velho Jim. Esse homem acompanha-me desde que sou rapaz e mesmo que derreta os objectos para os vender, não me importo. Fará um bom dinheiro para ele;
- Sabes aquela pulseira de prata com uma safira, que trouxe do oriente? Dá-la à ama do nosso filho. É para o filho dela ir estudar e aprender uma profissão digna;
- As terras e o castelo, confio-as a ti, meu amor, até que o nosso filho tenha idade para assumir o seu papel e te possa dar algum descanso. Confio em ti para manteres as nossas terras prósperas.
Espero regressar, mas caso tal não aconteça, quero que saibas que não houve um dia em que não tenha pensado em ti.

My beloved Lila:
The day is coming to it's end. Already can see the moon in the horizon and tomorrow i'll be gone for one more battle. This will be my third campaign and i'm afraid that the luck i had as runned out and that i won't came back home this time. So, i want you to know how much i love you and know my last will. I trust you to fulfill them in case i miss my return:
- My horse should be delivered to that young man that slept with the animal all the times it had been sick. I don't remember his name, but i believe the horse couldn't be in better hands, and that he will treat it with respect and care;
- My weapons, armour and my chain shirts must be put in old Jim's hands. That man is by my side since i was a kid and even if he melts the objects i don't mind. He will make a good money for him;
- Do you know that silver bracelet, that i brought from the East, the one with the sapphire? Give that to our son's nanny. It's for her son, to study and learn a worthy job;
- The manegment of the lands and the castle, i'll leave it to you, my love, until our son have the age to take his part and give you some rest. I trust you and only you to maintain our lands prosper.
I hope to return, but if that will not happen, i want you to know that there wasn't a day in witch i haven't thought about you.
